Billing

  1. Answer: Currently we accept Visa.

  2. Answer: Your credit card can be automatically charged on the first day of each month or you can pay up to 6 months at a time.

  5. Answer: You can cancel your hosting package at any time simply by sending an email to billing@businessonthecape.com. All you have to do is Type Cancel My Plan in the subject line and list your domain name in the body of the email. You will receive an email from our billing department to confirm your cancellation. Upon confirmation, your account will be closed on the last day of the month in which you cancel. You will then receive a refund for the remainder of months that were prepaid.

Technical

  1. Answer: Just click on your hosting package of choice on our Hosting page and submit your request to our service team. You will be contacted by one of our service representatives with complete instructions on how to activate your account. NOTE: Domain Transfer usually takes 24-48 hours to be updated after you submit the changes to your registrar.

  2. Answer: Yes. You will just need to contact your current host, or the registrar of your domain and ask them to change the name servers (DNS) of the domain to our name servers. Because we are a reseller of hosting services, our server names may vary. Once you decide to host with us and have your company showcased a service representative will guide you through the process. You should continue to keep your hosting service at your present site while waiting for the domain to be transferred, as it takes 24-48 hours for a DNS transfer request to be processed. Sometimes it may be necessary to contact your old host and/or registrar by phone to get the transferred completed.

  3. Answer: No, you can receive a private BusinessOnTheCape.com email address with an email hosting package for $4.99 / month. Contact our sales team for further information at sales@businessonthecape.com

  4. Answer: Yes. There is no charge to park your domain with us. You can still participate in our marketing program by having your company listed in our business directory. Contact our sales team for special pricing information at sales@businessonthecape.com

  5. Answer: A domain name can be up to 67 characters long including 4 characters used to identify the Top Level Domain (.NET, .COM, .ORG, or .EDU). The domain can only consist of letters, numbers and dashes(-). However, you cannot start or end a name with a dash. Furthermore, the www is not part of the actual domain name and is just a standard web prefix. The minimum length for a domain name is 3 characters, excluding the domain extension.

  6. Answer: If you do not know where your domain is registered, you can do a whois search to find out the registrar of your domain. There are many sites that will enable you to do this. Browse to networksolutions.com and do a whois search to find out all necessary information, including DNS settings. It is here (with authorized credentials) you can edit your DNS entries to point to our name servers once you choose to host with us. And remember, this is a free service once you become a BusinessOnTheCpae client.

  7. Answer: Absolutely. You always remain the holder of the domain name. We simply act as your technical contact to make the process convenient for you and your business.

  8. Answer: No, only one domain name can be associated with your Email Hosting Plan.

  9. Answer: Every time someone visits (hits) your web site, a certain amount of data is downloaded. The total amount of data downloaded at the end of the month by all visitors is the amount of Data Transfer or Bandwidth you are using. All our hosting plans includes a certain amount of Data Transfer. Additional Data Transfer is charged on a usage basis.

  10. Answer: Yes. We support Microsoft® FrontPage® Server Extensions which are backward-compatible with all earlier versions of FrontPage.
